if I recall acoustic samples also has some great basses in the UVI engine. Spectrasonics Manufacturer site Trilian is designed from the ground up to be the most versatile bass virtual instrument available today with a new level of expressive, real-time performance for acoustic and electric basses plus cutting-edge synth bass tones with powerful editing and extraordinary sound quality. When it comes to bass, I end up in MODO for electric bass, Ample Sounds, Orange Tree, or fluffy audio for upright, and synth bass from dozens of makers for Kontakt, serum, etc. In my opinion, getting into Omnisphere and finding great 3rd party packs has been incredible for scoring and adding textures. It’s for fine synth bass but there are so many options in synth and so many considerations as well. This makes it less playable and more about fine tuning the details for electric, upright and fretless. Getting realistic bass sound out of trilian takes work to put in the acoustic sounds like finger slides manually. It’s incredibls if you’ve gone that far, but otherwise I feel like nowadays a jack-of-all trades app ends up being just ok at many things, but not spectacular at any one thing. I feel like trillian for me has only really come into play when using it in the greater Omnisphere environment matched with a number of presets from spectrasonics and third party expansions.
